Definition:

Umrah Badal [also known as Badal Umrah, Umra Badal in Urdu, Proxy Umrah, etc.] is when someone gets an Umrah performed on his or her behalf by another person. ‘Umrah Badal may be performed for another due to an ongoing illness for which there is no hope of a cure, or because of old age, or because the person has already passed away.

Ruling:

Permissible to perform according to all four major schools of thought / madhab. ‘Umrah Badals should be performed as many times as possible for a person.

Laqit bin `Amir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I came to the Prophet (PBUH) and said: “My father is a very old man and does not have strength to perform Hajj (pilgrimage) or `Umrah or to undertake the journey.” Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “Perform Hajj and `Umrah on behalf of your father.”–ABU DAWUD & AT-TIRMIDHI

Conditions for performing Umrah Badal

There are conditions without which Umrah Badal might not be accepted:

The person appointed to perform Umrah Badal must be a sane Muslim.
While entering into Ihram, he should make intention on behalf of the person for whom he/she will perform Umrah Badal.
Umrah Badal must be performed by the appointed person only if he or she has been authorized to get it done by that person. In this case he/she can send someone else in his/her place.
The person appointed to perform Umrah Badal must be a sane Muslim.
The appointed person should not miss any imperative (Fard) part of the Umrah.

Our dedicated Islamic studies students, currently residing in the holy city of Makkah, meticulously perform each step of the Umrah pilgrimage on behalf of the beneficiary. This includes all the essential rituals, from Tawaf around the Kaaba to Sa’i between Safa and Marwa. Throughout the Umrah, heartfelt prayers are made specifically in the name of the person you have designated, ensuring that the blessings of this sacred journey reach them.

STEP 3

Receive your video proofs

You will receive three personalized videos showcasing the key stages of the Umrah: the Miqat (where the Ihram is assumed), the Tawaf (circumambulation of the Kaaba), and the Sa’i (the walk between Safa and Marwa). Each video will clearly mention the beneficiary’s name, both verbally and/or visually, confirming the completion of the Umrah on their behalf.
