Every year, there are difficulties during Hajj… and there always will be.
Hajj is not a luxury tour; it is a journey of worship, patience, and soul purification.
Even in the past, there were hardships…
But there was no WhatsApp back then for everyone to broadcast their complaints.
Today we have: ☑️ AC
☑️ Comfortable tents
☑️ Buses
☑️ Hot meals
☑️ Showers
And yet, complaints remain.
Whereas earlier:
❌ No electricity
❌ No fans
❌ No hotels
❌ No buildings
❌ No phones
❌ Not even the ease to voice complaints…
Still, people joyfully and gratefully would set out on camelbacks on foot, wearing their Ihram…
With just one cry on their lips — “Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik…”
💡 Hajj – A Test, A Jihad
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Al-Hajju Jihadun laa qitaala feeh”
“Hajj is a form of Jihad in which there is no fighting.”
(Musnad Ahmad)
This is a spiritual battle — a fight against the desires of the self, against the urge always to be comfortable.
Every fatigue, every moment of waiting — becomes an act of worship.
🌞 The sun
🥵 The heat
🚶 The crowds
⏳ The waiting
💧 The sweat
🫠 The struggle
This is the real Hajj. This is the true test of patience.
🕋 6 Times We Shift — By Allah’s Design
Think about it — in a single Hajj, pilgrims shift locations so many times:
- Makkah → Mina
- Mina → Arafat
- Arafat → Muzdalifah
- Muzdalifah → Mina
- Mina → Makkah
- Then back to Mina again before leaving
Even with all the modern technology,
challenges still arise every year —
because this is not a five-star resort — this is Allah’s training ground.
🧼 Hardship is Not a Curse — It’s a Mercy
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a believer — not even the prick of a thorn — but that Allah expiates some of his sins because of it.”
(Bukhari & Muslim)
Every tear
Every step
Every drop of sweat
= The price of Paradise
😔 People Say…
❌ We didn’t get a good tent
❌ The food was cold
❌ We had to walk too much
❌ There were delays in Arafat
❌ The AC wasn’t working
But ask yourself…
Is walking in the path of Allah a burden?
Or is that very step the one that wipes your sins away?
📿 Hidden Forgiveness in Visible Struggle
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever performs Hajj and refrains from indecent speech and sins — he returns (pure) as on the day his mother gave birth to him.”
(Bukhari)
Are we letting our desire for comfort distance us from this spiritual reset?
🌤️ Standing in Arafat’s Heat…
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“On the Day of Arafat, Allah boasts to the angels about His servants standing in the sun, covered in dust, and says:
‘Look at My servants — I have forgiven them all.’”
(Musnad Ahmad)
Can we expect that same level of acceptance while sitting in an AC room?
🧽 Everyone Gets Washed Differently
Allah uniquely cleanses each pilgrim:
- Some are cleaned with just water
- Some require scrubbing with soap
- Some are purified by the brick — through heavy hardship
The more the hardship, the deeper the spiritual cleansing.
🕊️ Remember Your Niyyah (Intention)
When we tie the Ihram, we say:
“Allahumma hajjan maqboolan, wa sa’yan mashkooran, wa zamban maghfooran.”
“O Allah! Grant me an accepted Hajj, a rewarded effort, and forgiven sins.”
Will this dua be accepted through complaints — or gratitude and patience?
💖 What Does Allah Love?
✅ A thankful heart
✅ A tongue in constant remembrance
✅ A body that endures with patience
If you have these three —
then your Hajj, In Sha Allah, is accepted.
📖 What Does the Qur’an Say?
“Whoever honors the symbols of Allah — it is truly from the piety of the hearts.”
(Surah Hajj – 22:32)
Arafat, Muzdalifah, Safa-Marwah, Ramy — all are symbols of Allah.
Just reaching them is worship — and hardship is part of it.
🏆 A Reward for Your Patience
“A reward for what you patiently endured — and how excellent is the final home!”
(Surah Ar-Ra’d – 13:24)
🤲🏼 Dua:
“O Allah! Just as You take pride in us in Arafat before Your angels —
On the Day of Judgment, present us proudly before Your Beloved ﷺ.”
Aameen, Ya Rabb al-Aalameen.
🕋 Your Hajj or Umrah is not a vacation…
It’s a sacred journey where you need not comfort but acceptance.
Not luxury, but forgiveness.
